Natural Wild Harvested Local Organic Home Grown

The ALCHEMY begins here…

EARTH REMEDIES

As close to the earth as I can get! Every ingredient is selected to play an important part in the final product. Purity and vitality for you as well as sustainability for our environment are my priority. Wild crafted native ingredients, sustainably harvested from pristine land, feature in all BARE skin, hair and home care products. They are supported by organically grown ingredients sourced as locally as possible. Most are grown right here on the beautiful land I call home.

ESSENTIAL OILS

Essential Oils are the pure natural essences of herbs, spices and fruits. They are used for their clear fresh scents and nutritive qualities. I select only pure essential oils. Australian natives feature across the BARE Soap range. I carefully blend these with more traditional essential oils to create beautiful individual scents which perfectly complement each selection of earth remedies.

BUSH FLOWER ESSENCES

These are perhaps the most elusive but powerful of all the ingredients I choose to use. Using sunlight, spring water, silk and a range of Australian native flowers wild harvested at Rorruwuy NT, these essences imbue each lovingly crafted creation in the BARE Soap range with the energetic signature of this land.

SOAP BASE

Locally grown Organic Macadamia Nut Oil is the base oil across the BARE Soap range. I hand mix it into saponified coconut oil in a cold process soap method which ensures its nutritive qualities are preserved and the benefits of the vegetable oil that is most like the oils in our skin is available.

ECO DYES

The very core of BARE Weaving is colour! Natural sustainable colour that lasts. That’s why all our fibers are dyed with specially matched natural dyes. Years of experimentation have resulted in a rainbow of colour that enhances, rather than overpowers the natural shades of the native fibers used in my woven creations as well as the fibers I make available for others to create with. Roots, resins, fruits, barks, leaves and lichens, locally and sustainably foraged, harvested or sourced are the key ingredient in every colour we create. Occassionally sea salt, ashes or lime are added to the witches brew!

NATIVE FIBRES

Local Natives, sustainably harvested from clean country are at the heart of every basket, and are as important to me as they have been for basket makers the world over, through out time. The skill of identifying or growing strong and healthy fibers, then preparing them in a way that ensures long term pliability, resistance to environmental damage such as mold as well as maximum dye pick up is the first step in creating as a weaver.

BUSH BLING

Road kill is a common but devastating sight alongside roads all over this country. One that people either ignore or are sickened by. I have chosen to celebrate the furred, feathered, scaled and spined creatures native to this country, rather than pass them by or see their most spectacular beauty wasted. I respectfully harvest their bounty and dignify their bodies, often with a song to their soul and always with thanks. This bounty is then frozen for several weeks to ensure resistance to environmental damage. Wind fall as well as the flotsam and jetsam of our shores are other sources of fabulous embellishment!
